DirectX 9 Runtime is a Microsoft multimedia component package used by many Windows applications to accelerate graphics, video, and audio. Some Sonic Solutions products install or depend on this runtime to enable smooth video rendering, 3D effects, and hardware-accelerated playback. This redistributable provides the Direct3D, DirectDraw, DirectSound, and related libraries required by certain legacy applications; it installs side-by-side with newer DirectX versions and does not replace them. It has no standalone interface and is typically installed only to meet application requirements or resolve missing DirectX 9 DLL errors.
